Dr. Nathan Patterson embarked on his academic journey with a degree in chemistry from the prestigious Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama, graduating magna cum laude and earning a fellowship in the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He advanced his medical education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Patterson's rigorous general surgery training began at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL, and concluded at the distinguished Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, LA. He then honed his expertise in plastic surgery during his fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, collaborating with some of the world's leading plastic, head & neck, and maxillofacial surgeons.
As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Patterson is committed to excelling in his field. In 2004, Dr. Patterson moved to Pensacola, FL, and started his plastic surgery practice. After more than 15 years as a solo practitioner, Dr. Patterson joined his friends and colleagues, Dr. Peter Butler and Dr. Jocelyn Leveque, at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery. Dr. Patterson has contributed immensely to making Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery one of the Southeast's premier plastic surgery practices.
Dr. Patterson holds professional memberships with several prestigious organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Additionally, he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), underscoring his dedication to providing the highest standards of care in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Patterson values time with his family and friends outside his professional life. He and his wife, Kam, are actively involved in their son Pierce's numerous sports and extracurricular activities. Dr. Patterson's hobbies include boating, traveling, reading, and staying fit through regular exercise, which adds balance and joy to his life.

I went for my consultation with Dr. Patterson for a mommy makeover. He did an amazing job at explaining what all is involved with the makeover, he explained the different procedures to include pros and cons. He even drew pictures to show how my body would be put pack together. He offered pictures of past procedures before and after. I was very pleased and feel I can make the best decision for my mommy makeover. Not to forget his staff. They were very sweet and kind. They were also very empathetic with me and my medical history. I feel I have made the correct decision overall in my choice with Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery.
Just a note of Thanks to Dr. Patterson and his staff. I am so thankful for everyone in his office for taking such good care of me. Dr. Patterson is one of the Best doctors in Pensacola. I decided back in 2010 to have breast implants put in due to nursing 3 children. Dr. Patterson is a perfectionist and I am thankful for that. Dr. Patterson also did a breast reduction for my daughter due to severe back pain and now the back pain is gone and we were able to get her off of pain medicine. May 2024 I had my implants removed due to having rheumatoid arthritis and severe back pain. As of now I am 3 days post opp and feel so much better. I wish I could remember everyone’s name in his office because they deserve Recognition for going above and beyond being helpful. Gulf Coast Plastic surgery is Voted The Best in Pensacola if you ask me. Thank-you for your expert care and saving me from a dangerous back surgery. I have so much more energy now and I am beyond blessed having extraordinary care! I would also like to say that The Cornerstone Surgery Center was Amazing. Shout out to such a Amazing team. Dr Patterson is great! He has been doing my botox injections for years. I have tried the skin care center but i just love the results i get with him. He wants to know your concerns and he listens.
