Arm Lift in Pensacola, FL

Excess skin under the arms, often called "bat wings," can be frustrating, especially with aging or weight loss. Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery offers upper arm lift surgery, or brachioplasty, to remove this loose skin. An arm lift can enhance your upper arm contour if you haven't achieved toning through natural methods. For those worried about scars, a short scar arm lift leaves less noticeable scarring. Contact us in Pensacola, FL to schedule a consultation and learn how an upper arm lift can give you toned, youthful arms.

An upper arm lift, or brachioplasty, is usually an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. The surgery removes loose skin from the elbow to the underarm, potentially using liposuction for stubborn fat. The incisions are made discreetly but will leave a scar. Afterward, the skin is sutured, and healing is supported with cleaning, bandaging, and compression garments. For less severe skin excess, a short-scar arm lift results in a less visible scar compared to a traditional arm lift.

At Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, arm lifts offer several benefits, like:

  • Effective for stubborn areas despite diet or exercise
  • Removes excess skin from weight loss or aging
  • Reduces friction and soreness in arms and chest
  • Boosts confidence for wearing sleeveless tops
  • Short scar arm lifts leave less visible scarring

Everyone in the office is very friendly. I had an abdominoplasty and brachioplasty on Dec 1, 2022 and so far I am very pleased with the results and the care I have received. I would highly recommend Dr. Leveque and her staff for any cosmetic procedures you may be contemplating.

Limited Adominoplasty, Breast Augmentation (Silicone), Brachioplasty - Pensacola, FL - I'm 47 years old and have been thinking about plastic surgery for sometime. I had Gastric Bypass in 2007. After losing 130 lbs, I have been able to keep my weight off through diet and exercise. I decided (with my wonderful husband's support) to have plastic surgery. I've lived in this area for sometime and have many friends and family who have seen Dr. Butler. I have yet to hear a complaint so I'm taking the plunge. Met with him once already....My husband and I both liked him. Dr. Butler said I don't need MR or a BL. This was a bonus because with my weight loss and four children I was expecting to need both procedures. (woohoo) I'm 5'8 and 137 pounds. My Pre-op appt is scheduled for August 9th.Updated on 12 Aug 2012:Had my pre-op on August 9th. I'm surprised on the size of the implants I chose. (497cc under the muscle- Silicone) My PS knows I want to be a full C -Small D. We did the Vectra Imaging and that's what we came up with. I trust my doctor. I made it abundantly clear that I don't want to look like a stripper. I also found out that since I am not having MR, I no longer have to stay overnight in the hospital. I can decide in the recovery room what I want to do...so we will see. I will try to upload some pics soon.

Extremely happy - it should only look better after swelling goes down - Dr. Leveque is fantastic at her craft. I went for consult a year before surgery. Had to reschedule 2x due to work and getting COVID. Not once, in dealing with her or staff, did I feel uncomfortable due to not being my ideal weight. She said she could make me happy as I am or I could continue on my weight loss journey first. I’ve had 3 c-sections and wanted the extra saggy skin off. She did Tt, muscle repair, lipo to back & flanks, and cut fat ball out of right underarm. I’m extremely happy with results and I’m 2 weeks post-op so it should only look better after swelling goes down. She’s a thin Dr., I thought she would criticize my weight beforehand but she never did. I highly recommend her, her staff, and the experience. I plan on an arm lift with her in the future.

Awesome experience! - Dr, Butler did my arm lift with awesome results. I had put off having this procedure done but, after my consultation with him, I was confident that I had found the right surgeon to do the job. Dr. Butler is so relaxed and answered all my questions and some I didn't know to ask. I'm diabetic and he really took that into consideration, explaining the importance of keeping my blood sugar under control to ensure that the healing process was successful. He removed 7+ pounds of fat and excess skin from my upper arms and I feel and look like a new woman, even if I am 70 years old! His staff are knowledgeable ladies with kindness and pleasantness built-in. My post-op care was excellent. If you need some improvement, don't hesitate to talk to Dr. Butler!

How much does arm lift surgery cost?

The total cost for arm lift surgery varies depending on several factors. During your consultation, we will take the time to understand your specific needs and goals. Once your surgical plan is developed, we will provide a detailed breakdown of your costs. To make achieving your desired results more accessible, our team accepts several payment methods and can assist you in finding low-interest medical financing options.

Can I combine an arm lift with other surgeries?

Many patients choose to combine arm lift surgery with other procedures for comprehensive results. This combination, often referred to as an upper body lift, may include liposuction, a tummy tuck, or breast surgery, such as a breast lift. Additionally, an arm lift is frequently performed as part of a post-weight-loss surgery plan for patients who have achieved significant weight loss and require full body contouring. During your consultation, we will discuss all options to create a customized treatment plan tailored to your goals.

Will there be scars?

Since an arm lift involves removing loose skin through incisions, scarring is an expected part of the procedure. However, we make every effort to use small, thin incisions placed in less visible areas. After your surgery, we will recommend ointments and other scar care tips to help minimize scarring. We also suggest limiting UV exposure for at least one year to protect the healing areas from discoloration. Most patients find that the benefits of an arm lift far outweigh the appearance of minor scars.

What results can I expect from an arm lift?

An arm lift can significantly improve the appearance of your upper arms by removing loose skin and small amounts of fat. To maintain your results, we recommend following a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise to prevent weight fluctuations. Once you have fully recovered and we have cleared you, incorporating strength training into your routine can help further enhance the shape of your upper arms by building muscle definition.

Are there nonsurgical treatments to improve my arms?

Although several nonsurgical skin tightening treatments are available, they typically offer only mild improvements. A surgical arm lift remains the most effective solution for patients with moderate to severe loose skin. Along with removing excess skin, we can also use liposuction to eliminate small fat deposits and smooth the remaining tissue for a more refined appearance. If you're curious about nonsurgical options, we can discuss all available treatments during your consultation and help you determine the best approach to achieve your goals.

If you're struggling with droopy skin or "bat wings" under your upper arms, an upper arm lift or brachioplasty can significantly improve your appearance. This advanced cosmetic procedure provides both emotional and physical benefits by removing excess skin and fat. If you are at a healthy weight but still can't eliminate the sagging skin on your upper arms, consider scheduling a private consultation at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery. Brachioplasty can help you look fitter and younger.
